World Heritage Sites in Central Vietnam
5 days/4 nights

Day 1: Arrive Danang / Hoi An
On arrival at Danang airport, a personal guide awaits you. A 30-min drive will bring you to Hoi An ancient town with a stopover at the Cham Museum, which houses the best Champa statue collection in Asia. The remainder of the day is free and easy.
Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 2: Hoi An
Between the 17th and 19th centuries, Hoi An was a prosperous trading port. Today, this World Heritage listed ancient town boasts well-preserved buildings, pedestrian-friendly streets and unique cuisine, allowing visitors a glimpse of its illustrious past. The narrow lanes are ideal for a walking tour to visit the old merchant’s house with influences from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture; the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge; the Assembly Hall of the Chaozhou Chinese Congregation with outstanding wood carvings; and the colorful market with stalls brimming with tropical specialties including silk, which can be turned into fashionable garments within a day. An optional stop, subject to availability, is the private home of Diep Dong Nguyen with a stunning collection of artifacts ranging from pottery and seals to paintings, money and antique photos of old Hoi An. You can explore the rest of the ancient city by yourself for the remainder of the day. Overnight in Hoi An (Breakfast)

Day 3: Hoi An – Danang - Hue
Embark on a scene 3-hour drive to Hue, the former capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 until 1945. The drive passes through Danang before climbing over the Pass of the Ocean Clouds where the summit provides a spectacular panoramic view of the central coastline, which drops down to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co located on a jutting sand dune. Upon arrival in Hue, transfer to the hotel. The afternoon is dedicated to a visit to the Imperial Citadel rich with Royal history and life. Overnight in Hue (Breakfast)

Day 4: Hue
After breakfast, drive out 30 minutes to the serene Tu Duc Royal Tomb, designed to blend in with the natural surroundings. An incense stick making village makes for an interesting stop before heading to the elaborate Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, of which the architecture and atmosphere showcase elements of eastern art and western designs. In the afternoon, embark on a half-hour boat trip on the famed Perfume River to visit Thien Mu pagoda, Hue’s best-preserved religious monument. Standing on the riverbank with its seven-storey tower, the pagoda is a sight to behold. Complete your trip at Ho Quyen; the Royal Arena of the Nguyen Emperors located 4km south west of Hue, where tigers were forced to fight elephants – the symbol of imperial power – in this amphitheatre. The last fight was held in 1904. Drive back to your hotel to relax for the remainder of the day. Overnight in Hue (Breakfast)

Day 5: Departure
Explore the city at your own leisure until your transfer by private car to the airport for your onward flight. End of services. (Breakfast)
